About the role
Zou Zou Media House is looking for a warm, organized, and creative Visual Arts Facilitator to lead our Visual Arts Enrichment Program.
Each session pairs a read-aloud with an activity or combines it with a hands-on art activity built around that week's book theme. You'll bring our curriculum to life for children and, at times, seniors, adults, and workplace teams at schools, after-school programs, community centres, libraries, and partner sites.
This is a great fit for an artist, art educator or experienced arts facilitator who loves working with groups and believes every person is creative.
What you'll do
Lead multiple engaging sessions for groups of up to 20 to 25 participants, following our weekly themed curriculum
Host a read-aloud from The Amazing Zoe series or a partner title, then guide a short group discussion that connects the story to the art activity
Teach age-appropriate techniques across two streams: arts and crafts for younger children and exploration of different mediums (painting, collage, printmaking, drawing, mixed media) for older children
Adapt activities for different ages, abilities, and group sizes so everyone can take part
Set up and pack up materials, and leave each space clean and ready for the host site
Track and care for program supplies, and flag when restocking is needed
Build positive relationships with host site staff, participants, and families
Take photos of artwork (following our consent policy) and complete a short session report after each visit
Share ideas to help us improve and grow the curriculum
Occasionally support Bookmobile events with art activations
What you bring
At least 2 years of experience teaching, facilitating, or leading art activities with children or groups
A strong working knowledge of a range of art mediums and techniques
Confidence leading a room, managing group energy, and keeping things fun and safe
A warm, patient approach and genuine respect for every participant
Reliability and punctuality: our partners count on us
Reliable transportation to travel between sites across the GTA
A clear Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain one before starting)
Standard First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to get it
Nice to have
A degree, diploma, or certificate in fine arts, art education, early childhood education, or a related field
Experience with culturally responsive or arts-integrated teaching
Experience with seniors' programming or workplace team-building activities
A second language
An active art practice and portfolio
What we offer
Hourly pay, with all program materials provided
A ready-to-use curriculum, so your energy goes into teaching
Flexible scheduling
The chance to work with diverse communities and award-winning programs
Opportunities for more sessions and new program streams as we grow.
Part-time (contract) up to 20 hours per week.

Zou Zou Media House runs an online bookstore and Canada's First Arts and Culture Mobile Bookstore, carrying our own titles alongside books by Canadian, local, and diverse authors. We're looking for a book-loving virtual librarian and bookstagrammer to keep our catalogue organized, read and review the titles we carry, and share them with readers online.
Think of yourself as part librarian, part bookseller, and part content creator. If you light up when you match a reader with the perfect book, this role is for you.
What you'll do
Catalogue and online store
Add and maintain book listings on our online store and Bookmobile inventory, including titles, authors, ISBNs, descriptions, age ranges, categories, and pricing
Write clear, engaging book descriptions and keyword-friendly listings so readers can find what they need
Organize titles into collections and reading lists (for example, Black History Month, holiday gift picks, early readers, and Canadian voices)
Keep consignment records accurate and flag low stock, outdated listings, or missing information
Reading, reviewing, and curating
Read and review new titles submitted by authors, and assess fit with our collection guidelines
Write short reviews, staff picks, and "if you liked this, try this" recommendations
Help build seasonal and themed reading lists for families, schools, and community partners
Content creation and community
Plan and create bookstagram-style content for Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook: styled book photos, short videos and reels, carousels, stories, and reviews
Follow a monthly content calendar of 3 to 5 posts per week
Feature our consignment authors and help promote their launches, signings, and events
Engage with readers, authors, and book communities by responding to comments and building relationships with other bookstagrammers
Track simple monthly results (reach, engagement, link clicks, sales) and share what's working
Customer and author support
Respond to online store and Bookmobile inquiries by email and direct message within one business day
Follow up with readers, schools, and organizations interested in book orders
Support author onboarding by sending intake questions and tracking submissions
What you bring
A background in library science, library technology, bookselling, publishing, education, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
An active bookstagram, BookTok, or book blog, or a portfolio of book content you've created
A wide reading life, especially in children's, middle grade, and young adult literature, plus adult fiction and non-fiction
Strong writing skills and an eye for clean, attractive photos and video
Comfort with Canva, Instagram, TikTok, and basic e-commerce or website platforms
Excellent organization and attention to detail
A friendly, professional tone with customers and authors
Self-motivation and reliability working remotely
Nice to have
A library technician diploma, MLIS, or similar
Experience cataloguing or using library or inventory systems
Knowledge of diverse and Canadian children's literature
Experience with Shopify, Wix, Squarespace or WooCommerce
A second language
What we offer
Flexible, remote, part-time hours
Hourly pay plus commission on online sales you help drive
Access to new and upcoming titles from diverse authors
Creative freedom to shape our online voice
The chance to grow with a small, award-winning independent publisher
How to apply
Complete the application form on this page and include a link to your Bookstagram, BookTok, or portfolio. In the short questions, recommend three children's or young adult books you love and tell us, in a sentence each, who they're perfect for. Shortlisted applicants will be asked to create one sample post for a book we send them and then meet with us for a short interview.
Part-time (contract) 20 hrs per week
