Story time arrives on wheels.

Our birthdays are for families who'd rather give their child something they'll still have in ten years than something that ends when the music stops, and for adults marking a milestone who want a celebration with a bit more soul than a rented hall. We shape the whole event around the guest of honour.

For little ones, that's a read-aloud on the bus, movement and drumming, and a picture book each.

For older kids, it's spoken word, a storytelling challenge and a shelf they get to raid.

For adults, it's a pop-up bookstore at the door, music, poetry, and browsing with a drink in hand. Every guest chooses a book to take home, so nobody leaves with a bag of plastic that ends up in the bin by Tuesday. We bring the books, the sound, the facilitators and the setup. You bring the cake. Months later, people will still be talking about the day there was a bookstore parked outside.

🌈 For Children: Magical Moments on Wheels

Ages 0-17 years

Create unforgettable memories for the little ones with a joyful and imaginative Bookmobile experience designed just for kids.

Storytime, Movement & Creativity (2.5 hrs)

For up to 15 guests. Each party rental includes:

  • One Interactive Read-Aloud: A lively and engaging storytelling session featuring the local author of your selected picture book.

  • DJ Dance Party: Get kids moving with a fun, age-appropriate dance session inside or outside the Bookmobile.

  • Mini Writing Workshop or Arts and Crafts Activity: Kids get creative with a hands-on writing or drawing experience inspired by the stories.

Personalized Birthday Experience

  • Special Gift: The birthday child receives a customized book-themed gift basket (books by local authors are autographed), wrapped and presented at the end of the session (8 books).

  • Autographed Book Party Favours: Each child (ages 0-8) attending the birthday party will receive one copy of our featured children’s book, personally signed by the author—a keepsake to treasure forever (for up to 12 guests).

  • Children ages 13-17 can choose one book from a select stock of books from the mobile bookstore (up to 12 guests). Add $25 per guest thereafter.

We are also available for a literary playdate or a creative weekend gathering. This experience brings fun, education, and a touch of magic right to your curb.

Adults: Culture, Music & Vibes

Ages 18+ years

Yes, grown-ups get to play too. The Bookmobile can transform into a cozy literary lounge, pop-up music venue, or creative space for intimate gatherings curbside, right at your home or special venue.

For the Booklover

  • Adult Read-Aloud: Choose a contemporary piece, a spoken word performance, or even a poetry reading for your guests. Think “book club meets speakeasy.”

  • The guest of honour receives 8 books carried by the bookmobile.

  • Books included for up to 12 guests. Optional, books are available for sale for your guests thereafter.

For the Music Lover

  • Live Music Experience: Use the Bookmobile as a backdrop for:

  • Small-scale live music sets (genre: reggae, jazz, soul)

  • Mini-concerts

  • Listening parties or vinyl nights

We offer in-house soul/reggae artists and D.J’s you can book directly through us.

Minimum Rental Duration:

  • Minimum 2 hours

  • Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA)

  • Travel Outside GTA: Additional mileage surcharge applies

  • Includes: One staff member on-site

  • A refundable incident deposit of $500 is required

  • HST applies to all pricing

  • Optional: Live soul/reggae band or D.J. Speak to us regarding your choice and rates.
