Meet Amazing Zoe.
She is curious. She is fearless. She looks like your child. The Amazing Zoe is a celebrated children's book series that sees every child and reminds them that their story matters.
ABOUT THE SERIES
Stories That See Every Child.
The Amazing Zoe series was created to fill a gap in children's literature: books that centre the everyday adventures, big feelings, and vibrant worlds of children who deserve to see themselves as the heroes of their own stories. Available in individual titles, classroom sets, and school library orders. Free educator lesson plan for every published title.
The Books
Zoe is six years old, and she's simply amazing. She's curious about everything, she adores her family, she's proud of her Caribbean and East African heritage, and she never turns down an adventure. Alongside her best friend Kaitlyn, she learns something real in every story, and so does the reader.
Every book takes on something true. These are the questions children are already asking at the kitchen table and in the schoolyard, and Zoe meets them head on rather than tiptoeing around them. Some of it comes from watching a little girl grow up. Some of it comes from paying attention to the world we're all living in.
The series started with a simple question: what stories would I have wanted read to me at that age, about what's happening right now? Because some things haven't changed at all, and some things need to be called by their name.
The messages are honest, they're educational, and they open the kind of conversations that keep going long after the book is closed. More than anything, they teach children how to be good citizens of the world.

Author in Residence
Zou Zou Media House is currently in residence at Villa Charities with our Visual Arts Enrichment Program, anchored by The Amazing Zoe children's book series and previously hosted at the Art Gallery of Ontario in 2023. We collaborate directly with educators to shape each residency around what students are already learning, so the sessions extend the classroom rather than interrupt it. Students meet a published author, step inside the pages of a book, and then create work of their own through guided writing and hands-on visual arts, with open conversations about diversity, identity, and belonging woven throughout. Children leave seeing themselves reflected in the stories they read and the art they make. We're now booking residencies for the 2026 to 2027 school year, and a limited number of dates are available.
Memoirs and Memories is our writing program for seniors, currently in residence at Villa Charities. Over the course of the program, participants are guided through writing their own life stories, session by session, until they hold a finished piece of their own legacy in their hands. We work alongside program staff and facilitators to build a warm, unhurried space where memory, culture, and family history can be set down on the page. It's built on the same belief that carries all our work, that everyone has a story worth telling and deserves the tools to tell it well. We're now booking for the 2026 to 2027 season, and a limited number of dates are available.
WHY AMAZING ZOE
Representation That Goes Beyond the Cover.
Research shows that children who see themselves in books develop stronger reading engagement, greater self-confidence, and more empathy for others. The Amazing Zoe series is built on this evidence, centring the diversity of the classrooms and communities it reaches.
