Your book, published with heart and craft.

You wrote it. Now it needs an editor who respects it, a designer who understands it, and a team that knows how to get it into readers' hands. That is what we do.

The publishing problem we solve.

Most authors reach the same wall. The manuscript is finished, the excitement is real, and then the questions start. Who edits this. Who designs the cover. How does printing actually work. What happens after it is published.

Publishing on your own means becoming a project manager for a project you have never run before. We take that off your desk. You stay the author. We handle the rest.

Your book is a business. We help you build it.

Publishing a book is one of the most powerful things you can do for your career, your community, and your legacy. But publishing it well requires more than uploading a file to a print-on-demand platform. It requires editorial rigour, strategic design, a clear understanding of your audience, and a marketing plan that puts your book in front of the people who need it.

At Zou Zou Media House, we bring all of that to the table. We are a service-based publisher, which means you invest in the professional production of your book and we invest our expertise, our creative talent, and our industry connections to make it exceptional. We do not accept every manuscript that comes our way. We are selective because we are serious. When we take on your project, we are fully committed to its success.

Books we’ve brought into the world.

Memoirs, children’s books, anthologies and legacy collections. Every one of them shaped with an author who had a story that mattered and no clear way to publish it.

Published books include children’s fiction, memoir and community anthology.

Every book here belongs to its author. We handle the work. They keep the rights.

That sentence answers the number one fear an indie author has about approaching a publisher, and answering it before they ask is worth more than any adjective on the page.

GOOD TO KNOW

The details that matter.

Payment

50 percent is due to begin. The balance is due before final files are released. Projects over $10,000 can be split across three payments on request.

Rush work

Need it faster than the published turnaround? A 30 percent surcharge applies, subject to editor availability. We'd rather tell you no than deliver you a rushed edit.

Our schedule

We take on ten manuscripts a month so that every author gets real attention. The current booking window is 3 to 5 weeks out.

Your rights

You own your manuscript, before, during, and after. Editing does not transfer any rights to us. Ghostwriting agreements assign full authorship to you in writing.

Confidentiality

Every editor on our team works under a confidentiality agreement. Your manuscript is never shared, quoted, or used as a sample without your written permission.

If the level changes

If we open your manuscript and find it needs a heavier edit than you booked, we stop and tell you before doing the work. You decide whether to upgrade, and nothing is charged without your approval.

Style

We edit to Chicago style by default, and to Canadian, American, or British spelling depending on your market. Tell us your preference and we'll build your style sheet around it.

Cancellations

Deposits are non refundable once your editor has begun, since your slot has been held. If you cancel before the start date, your deposit transfers to a future booking within twelve months.
